As per the order of Vice Chancellor Professor Gurdeep Singh, VBU Registrar has issued several notifications regarding appointments of new Deans, heads and a university officer and termination of senate membership of MlAs. These changes were awaited since long, as all these posts are of fixed tenures but the timing of this reshuffle is raising eyebrows and some insiders are linking it with the senate meeting going to be held on August 2.
As per the notification issued 6 Deans have been changed. Dr. C Prasad has been appointed as Dean of science, Dr. Sudha Goswami as dean humanities, Dr. SP Sharma dean of Social science, Dr. MK Singh as dean of commerce, Dr. S Biswas as dean medicine and Dr. RA Khan as dean law.
Heads of 13 post graduate departments have been changed. The new heads are Prof. SP Sharma-History, Dr. Sudha Goswami-Hindi, Dr. Ashok-Chemistry, Dr. MK Singh-Commerce, Dr. Vinod Kumar-English, Dr. DK Sen-Maths, Dr. P Mahto-Physics, Dr. OP Gupta-Geography, Dr. Urmila Kumari-Pshycology, Dr. Gayatri Sahu-Home Science, Prof. AH Ansari-Anthropology.
The VBU administration has shifted CCDC Dr. P Mahto to the department of physics as new head. Outgoing science dean Prof. SK Agrawal has been appointed CCDC of VBU. Proctor Dr. Chandreshwar Prasad has been appointed new science dean and he will look after both the posts.
As per another notification the VBU administration has terminated the senate membership of MlAs Saurav Narayan Singh, Amit Kumar Yadav, Vinod Kumar Singh, Jagganath Mahto, Harekrishna Singh and Jaiprakash Bhokta. Their tenure has expired in February this year but at that time notification was not issued and now after this notification a request letter has been sent to speaker of Jharkhand assembly to nominate 6 MlAs in VBU senate. Since senate meeting is on 2nd of August so there is least chance of getting new nominated members from people’s representative category.
