The most important statutory body, syndicate, of Vinoba Bhave University has finally approved the proposals of granting affiliation to the private B.Ed colleges running within the jurisdiction of the university keeping in view the recent verdict of Supreme Court of India.

During last meeting of the syndicate proposal of granting affiliation to the B.Ed colleges was in the agenda but the syndics refused to discuss on this proposal because at that time as per the judgment of High Court the time limit for granting affiliation to a B.Ed college had passed away. Due to this order of High Court many B.Ed colleges of VBU were suffering and they were eagerly waiting for the final verdict of Supreme Court.

last week the Supreme Court of India in its verdict gave a last chance to the universities this year to grant affiliation after expiry of time frame fixed by NCTE and High Court. After this judgment those associated with these colleges became active and an emergent meeting of both affiliation cum new teaching program committee and the syndicate of VBU was called on 26th of July to discuss on their proposals. In the morning the affiliation committee met and recommended to syndicate the proposals for final approval.

In the noon the syndicate meeting started in the VC chamber under the chairmanship of VC Dr. RN Bhagat. Syndicate gave its final nod to the proposals recommended by affiliation committee. As per the decision of syndicate now new B.Ed colleges will get a temporary affiliation of one year. Those who have completed one or two year temporary affiliation period have been granted affiliation for the next three sessions and those colleges who have completed atleast four years on temporary affiliation will now get permanent affiliation. The syndicate has instructed the office to issue notifications only after verifying the documents of the colleges that they fulfill the requisites and riders of NCTE or not.
