VBU staff divided on 3 officers' termination

The news of dismissal of three officers of Vinoba Bhave University by Chancellor Dr Syed Ahmad was the talk of the town on Tuesday.

In the university departments, colleges and in intellectual circles everywhere people were praising this decision of chancellor but it was also in talks that it is only half justice not the full justice. On Tuesday neither VC or Pro VC nor the registrar were present at the headquarters. The dismissed officers were also off the scene. The teachers and staffs were talking about the show-cause notices served to the Vice Chancellor RN Bhagat and Ex-Registrar EN Siddique by the chancellor office on this issue.

‘The screw is tightened by keeping screwdriver on the top’ and this time the chancellor has done the same to bring back the universities of the state on right track. It was the general feeling on Monday. Those who love their university and their State said that such types of steps are necessary to bring back the system back on track and hoped that very soon the chancellor will take some hard steps to correct the system.

A teacher said that by this step the chancellor has given a clear cut message to those especially in higher education field that during his tenure no one can escape after doing wrong. Some teachers were of the opinion that now the VC should resign to save some prestige. A teacher who had applied for the posts in 2010 said that the chancellor office should also go through the papers of JPSC office because in this matter JPSC is equally responsible. He informed that in 2010 the JPSC had rejected applications of many applicants on the ground of not possessing minimum requisites for the posts.

He said that before being sent before the interview board the staffs of JPSC have checked the documents of all candidates and at that time they have not only pointed out the faults in papers of those candidates whom the chancellor has dismissed on Monday. It clearly indicates that the office staffs of JPSC had found the errors but the then board members ignored their noting.

later on the committee of VBU also reported about the errors and that is why the then VC refused to appoint the finance officer and inspector of colleges arts and commerce. But how he appointed assistant registrar though the report was also against him is puzzling everybody here.

A senior teacher of VBU told The Pioneer that it is unfortunate of Jharkhand that right from the beginning JPSC made controversial decisions and recommendations on Monday many members and persons related to JPSC are in jails and this decision of chancellor has also made it clear that the then members of interview board are fit to be rewarded a trip of Hotwar.
