Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, is planning for its next convocation in January 2014. It was informed by Registrar SP Sinha after the meeting of all the deans, heads, directors and officers of the University organised on the single agenda of convocation.
In the absence of acting VC Surendra Singh, dean Student Welfare Manjula Sanga chaired the meeting. Registrar placed the letter of Chancellor Office in which a definite date between 15th to 30th November ‘13 and name of probable chief guest was asked from the VBU administration for convocation.
Members raised several queries and asked several questions about the expected time and procedure of completing all these. It became clear that to include the students of 2013 a meeting of academic council and syndicate is must. Since the finance committee does not exist nowadays so VC can approve the budget provisionally.
All the eyes are on VC Surendra Singh who was not present at the meeting to see whether he accepts the decision taken in the meeting or sticks to the previous proposal of former Vice Chancellors Bhagat and Kulkarni to organise convocation in November ‘13 in which the pass outs upto session 2011-12 will get
certificates.
