The Vinoba Bhave University administration seems to be in a fix over the evaluation scandal that has come to surface recently. The examination board of the university once again held a meeting here on Monday but nothing concrete could come out on the matter. After about 2 hour-long close-door meeting Vice Chancellor Professor Gurdeep Singh left the university campus while other officials present in the meeting denied sharing anything about the meeting.
Pro VC Dr MP Sinha said that the issue of absurd writing by an examinee in Part II exam answer books was not discussed in this meeting. He said that they were waiting for some reports then the matter will be discussed in board meeting.
After publication of reports of absurd writing in the answer books and good marking by the examiners, VBU administration is trying its best to find and escape route, said senior officials. On Saturday it issued show cause notices to the some teachers asking them in what capacity they were working as a media person and whether they had taken permission from the university.
Two days back when some media persons enquired about this case VC Professor Gurdeep Singh said that they had debarred all the erring teachers as the matter reached to university. Ironically enough, sources said that the complaint had reached the examination department in July 2015 and the teachers who had been identified in this case were appointed head examiner and examiner in the evaluation of Part I answer books held in the month of October.
According to sources the complainant Dr CS Singh wrote to Pro VC that he would now go to the Chancellor’s office then this matter was tabled in the meeting of examination board. As per the decision, show cause letter number VBU/Ex/2197 was issued to the erring teachers on 9/12/15.
Meanwhile, a teacher gave a petition in Hazaribagh Sadar Police Station that on Sunday evening when he was returning home few people intercepted him and forced him to stop. Three men came down from a Bolero vehicle and after enquiring his identity threatened him to not write news against VBU administration. The teacher stated that the persons threatened him to kill.
