Vananchal Dental College, Garhwa has come up with clarification suggesting that its tie-up with District Sadar Hospital is on legitimate grounds. The College administration showing letter issued by the then Health Secretary in 2004 claimed that the said Sadar Hospital was 100 bedded and permission for the tie-up had been given to it.

The Pioneer had quoted Director Health Services Dr Praveen Chandra saying that the hospital is yet be 100 bedded and had also disbelieved the claims of Dr T Hembrum, the Civil Surgeon.

“letter from the office of Health Secretary numbering 194 in 2004 has given permission for the tie-up of Vananchal Dental College and Hospital with Garhwa Sadar Hospital. The Government from time to time has also issued grants to the Sadar Hospital for beds, logistics and other machineries,” said Managing Trustee of the dental college Pawan Kumar.

When approached, Dr Praveen Chandra clarifying his position said that in his knowledge the said hospital may have been sanctioned 100 beds but he was not sure whether these are fully functional at present or previously. The College also disassociated with DCI president Divyendu Majumdar’s appointment.
