Jharkhand BJP leader and National Vice President of the Bhartiya Vaishya Mahasabha, Dr. Umesh Gupta,  said on Sunday that despite 40 percent population of Vaishya society being in Jharkhand, there is not a single member from Vaishya Samaj in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha from the state. He said, “Vaishya Samaj is the leader in social work throughout the country and is also the forefront of giving revenue in the economic sector of the country. However, when it comes to sharing the political arena, we have to suffer.”

He demanded the chief minister Shri Raghuvar Das and senior officials of the Vaishya organization that members from Vaishya community should be ensured participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha and the Vidhan Sabha election.

“A delegation of Bhartiya Vaishyas Mahasabha will meet the CM in this regard. A memorandum will be submitted and if necessary, we will go to New Delhi and talk to the national office bearers,” he said.
