Lok Sabha MP from Koderma and Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi has expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for this important decision.
Annapurna Devi said that she was continuously trying to open a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Dhanwar and she had requested the Union Education Minister several times in this regard. Today she is very happy that Prime Minister and Education Minister have fulfilled the demand of the people of Koderma Lok Sabha constituency and have approved the construction of new Kendriya Vidyalaya.
The total estimated requirement of funds for the establishment of 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and expansion of 01 existing Kendriya Vidyalaya KV is Rs 5872.08 crore (approx) for a period of eight years from 2025-26. This includes capital expenditure component of Rs 2862.71 crore (approx) and operational expenditure of Rs 3009.37 crore (approx).
There are 1256 functional Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country, out of which 03 are located on foreign soil in Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran. A total of 13.56 lakh students are studying in these Kendriya Vidyalayas.
The administrative structure for implementation of the project will require creation of posts as per the norms prescribed by the organization for running a full-fledged Kendriya Vidyalaya with a capacity of about 960 students. Thus, 960 x 86 = 82560 students will be benefited. As per the prevailing norms, a full-fledged Kendriya Vidyalaya provides employment to 63 persons.
She said that in pursuance of the National Education Policy 2020, almost all the Kendriya Vidyalayas have been designated as PM Shri Schools, which underlines the implementation of NEP 2020 and serves as a role model for others. KVs are one of the most sought after schools due to their quality teaching, innovative teaching methodology and updated infrastructure. Every year the number of students applying for admission to Class 1 in KVs is constantly increasing and the performance of students of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the board examinations conducted by CBSE has been consistently the best among all educational systems.
Annapurna Devi said that the approval of two new Kendriya Vidyalayas in Jharkhand will provide quality and high level education to the children of these areas and will also create employment opportunities for many people.
