The Government has admitted that many of its portals are outdated and not compatible to advanced cyber security norms required with the time. Efforts are also on to replace hosts of these sites from a unified one.
“Most of the sites had been built when we were evolving. Such sites need standardisation and we feel that many of them are needed to be shut down now. We are working on a plan where there will be a single website for the Jharkhand Government. We are heading for the integration and a unified portal is being prepared for all the Departments and services,” said Sunil Barnwal, Secretary of IT Department on Tuesday.
The Pioneer had on October 10 reported that one of the prominent Government websites of disaster management has been hacked. The official added that in order to ensure cyber security an ultra modern data centre is also coming up in the next 9-10-month time.
