An unidentified body of a 22- year old girl was found lying in the sand on the river bank of the Damodar River under Balidih police station on Sunday afternoon, police-in-charge Pusparaj Ojha informed.
The police recovered the body after passers-by alerted them. legs and hands were tied and cut marks were also found in the neck, indicating that the deceased was killed and thrown in the river.
"The body is still unidentified and investigation is going on including the autopsy which will provided more information," officer-in charge said.
"We are also looking into other aspects as well. The body has been sent to BGH and tomorrow it will be dispatched for post-mortem examination," he added.
