Failing to land a job, a young engineer ended his life by hanging himself on Saturday morning from the ceiling at his house at Bhojpur colony, under Chas Police Station of Bokaro district.
Manish Kumar (26) was depressed by his unemployment after completing his BE, said police officer in charge Narsingh Gautam. Police found a suicide note.
His mother Chinta Devi mentioned a job interview scheduled for March 21 in Ranchi. “Though Manish was an intelligent student, he was in depression for past year as his younger brother — also an engineer — got a job at Electrosteel but he didn’t,” said a neighbour.
“The brothers had completed their BEs from a Maharashtra-based engineering college in 2012,” he added. Police have sent the body for post-mortem.
