Speed took its toll again in Bokaro. A 19-year-old youth was crushed to death while he was trying to overtake a trailer on National Highway–23 near Holy Cross School at Balidih in Bokaro.
The deceased was identified as Aditya Singh, son of Om Prakash Singh, a resident of Jaina More. Aditya was a good cricketer and played for an under-19 cricket team of West Bengal, said an eyewitness.
According to another eyewitness, the accident took place while Aditya was on his way to home. He was on his Yamaha bike. Suddenly Aditya lost his control; his bike skidded while he was trying to overtake a trailer and he slipped under the speeding trailer. “The trailer was also going at a wild speed and Aditya was crushed to death”, he added.
Aditya was a resident at the co-operative colony Bokaro and was coming home to pursue his higher studies. The accident took place near Balidih said, Omprakash, the father of the deceased.
