Unable to bear mental and physical torture inflicted by her uncle and aunt a 24-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Kumharpara under Sonari police station area on wee hours of Thursday. Daughter of former Tata Steel employee Shivji Pandey, Anita used to give tuition to children.
She had been rushed to Tata Main Hospital's emergency where she was declared brought dead. The police recovered the body from the hospital and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem. The police and family members said that the girl was committed suicide as she was fed up with her regular torture by her uncle and aunt.
Officer-in-charge, Sonari police staiton, Vijay Kumar said that Shivji Pandey used to stay along with his younger brother Ganesh Pandey. The girl was fed up of the torture met to her by her uncle and aunt over pettty issues.
According to police, after the girl committed suicide, the members of the two families had a brawl, blaming each other for the tragedy. The police officer said that there was a dispute between the two families over properties too and it needs to be investigated. The officer-in-charge said that they would register a case and take necessary action against Ganesh Pandey and his family members only after receiving a formal complaint, but as of now no complaint has been lodged as such.
Shivji said that his younger brother Ramji and his family would always tease and torture his daughter for every small mistake she would commit. He said his daughter died only because of his younger brother and his family members.
