After a long spell of scorching sunlight and heat the season has suddenly took a turn in and around Hazaribagh since Monday. On Monday noon the weather became pleasant in Hazaribagh town and adjoining area, as continuous rain along with hail storm for more than one hours came as a big relief for the denizens. The mercury which was going to touch all time high of more than 42 degree Celsius suddenly dipped down.
On Tuesday again rain and thunderstorm came in the evening. In the adjoining areas of Hazaribagh heavy rain mixed with lightning injures two women and killed two buffaloes. As per our Ichak sources two women received lightning stroke when they were going back to their home from the market. In another incident in Chandwara village two buffaloes died due to lightning.
The first rain of the season has once again revealed the short comings of Municipal Corporation and road construction department. After rain the garbage filled in the drains came out on roads creating difficulty for the denizens who were walking on their foot. The entire town looked to be turned into a store house of garbage, mud and bad smell.
Due to water logging in many places people are facing difficulty and it is worst in Charhi where a portion of NH33 has turned as if it is a mini pond. The district board member of Charhi Agnesia Shandi Purti said that the NH has became dangerous near the Shyampatti area because there is no provision of drain here. I have written many letters to the officials national highway and raised the matter in several meetings with district administration but no one has took it seriously yet. Purti said a drain is necessary here which should be connected with the Bokaro river. Due to water logging every year this site becomes accident prone.
