The two-day Model United Nations Conference organised at the National University for Study and Research in law (NUSRl) concluded on Sunday Evening at NUSRl Nagri  campus.

MlA Bahragora legislative Assembly cum Member General Council of NUSRl Kunal Sarangi was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony.

The two days event was based upon deliberations by students who acted as the delegates representing various countries. Following the structure of UNO, the MUN was also divided into United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), Islamophobia being the topic of discussion in the former and lGBTQ community with special reference to same sex marriage being the topic for the latter.

As many as 80 students enthusiastically proposed resolutions in both the committees making it little tedious for the Executive Board to pass a unanimous resolution. However, the adept board performed its functions efficiently and effectively. In the valedictory session the students witnessed commendable skills of the Chief Guest..

Elaborating on the subject, Sarangi advocated respect for individual choices. Without questioning the constitution of India per se or criticizing the competence of the pillars of democracy, he mentioned that right to love is an essential element of one’s life. Nobody can compel anybody to love or not to love another person.
