Dreaded criminals Kunal Singh (32) and Vinod Singh (35) were arrested by Ranchi police from Vidyanagar on Sunday.
Kunal, according to the police had served in the army for 11 years and got along with Vinod Singh involving themselves in extortion activities in the districts of Palamu and lohardaga. Kunal Singh’s name had earlier appeared in AJSU leader Sajid Siddiqui’s murder in the year 2010. “Both of them were also the mastermind behind the abduction of Bhim Singh Munda in August this year. A few days back, they again had demanded a sum of Rs5 lakh from Bhim Singh,” said SSP Prabhat Kumar. Their hideouts were reported to the police team by Gudiya Devi, who was being sexually molested by both of them.
At least 9 cases in Palamu and one in lohardaga have been registered against them at different Police Stations. A special team was formed under the Kotwali police Station to get hold on them. 2 pistols, 8 bullets, 4 mobile phones, 6 sim cards, 2 motorcycle, 7 ATM cards, and fake identity cards have been recovered from their possession. Palamu and lohardaga police have also been called in to shed more light on these criminals.
