The police have arrested two accused in connection of murder case of Block Coordinator of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Siraj Ahmed.
The arrested accused were identified as Mukhtar Ansari and Shahshah Alam, both residents of Farthiya village under Garhwa Police Station.
Superintendent of police said that continuous raids were being conducted to arrest other criminals police firstly arrested to the , Mukhtar from Farthia village and on his tip a country-made pistol used in the murder was recovered and on the basis of confession statement, the main conspirator Shahenshah Alam of village Farthia was also arrested by the police.
The SP further said that the arrested Mukhtar Ansari was the shooter in this murder case and Shahenshah Ansari was the main conspirator of this incident. Mukhtar is already booked in two cases and Shahenshah Alam is wanted in three cases.
During the arrest of Shahenshah Alam on Wednesday , the police had to face a lot of difficulties in Farthiya village. A large number of villagers gathered and blocked the road and started stone pelting on the police who went to arrest them. The police had to resort to light lathi charge before the crowd could be controlled. Two policemen also sustained partial injuries in stone pelting by villagers. The tug of war continued between the villagers and the police personnel for about an hour.
On 14/07/2023, Block Coordinator of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Siraj Ahmed, posted in Bhavnathpur block, was shot dead by unknown people in Tulsi Damar Valley of Nagar Untari police station.
