TTPS generation falls to half

Generation at the Tenughat Thermal Power Station (TTPS) has come down to 170 MW as one of its production units closed down due to boiler tube leakage of unit no -2. Notably, power production by unit-2 got disrupted due to boiler tube leakage that occurred in it on Friday late night. General manager of TTPS, G Ravidas said the unit no. 2 was closed down for only two days, adding it led to the problem. Any tube lying idle for long period develops minor faults, he explained.

The general manager of TTPS, G Ravidas on Sunday said the unit no.1 of the station would become operational in only two days .The engineers of TTPS would able to light up unit on Monday evening itself .Production from the unit will be started from Tuesday afternoon ,while unit no -2 of the power plant producing 170 to 175 MW .Ravidas said, “The repair work in Unit no 1 was likely to be completed by Monday afternoon and Unit would start functioning smoothly from Tuesday morning.

Although it has caused power generation loss of several lakhs of rupees ,we will try to compensate it by maintaining power production .TTPS, a unit of the Tenughat Vidyut Nigam limited (TVNl), is the back bone of the State’s power production. It has two units which produce 420 MW (220x2).
