Tripura temple made with 2l coconut rinds

With the usage of two lakh coconut rinds and other recyclable stuffs, the RR Sporting club puja pandal disseminating the message of ecological preservation among public has been designed on the primeval Tripura Temple model.

Adopting ‘Go Green’ concept, this season, with surplus utilisation of organic stuffs, the puja pandal has been bedecked with colour combos like blue, bottle green, white, blonde and burgundy on the verge of dreamy archaic shrine that predominately exists in North-Eastern (NE) States.

Showcasing the rich cultural heritage of seven sisters, especially the architectural legacy of the NE States, the designers here have also crafted an imaginary green space to give more authentic look to the entire concept.

Being designed by approximately 120 artists to give more authentic and aesthetic glimpse at par with the real design of NE temples is likely to be enhanced more with the use of colourful illuminations.

This year, the designers instead of using minuscule lED lights have shifted to focus lighting going with the theme.

Alike every year, this season too, special attention has been given on the figurines of deities. All sculpts decked up inside the puja pandal are approximately 25 ft in height covering huge carpet area. Interior decoration will be made more lively with miniature art work being designed matching the NE montage art theme.

One of the oldest puja pandal that started the concept of theme based pandals in Capital City after completing 40 successful years has experimented with different types of designs. However, since past two years, the puja pandal is using only bio-degradable stuffs in festooning the pandal while creating awareness about the same.

“Since the establishment of RR sporting club in 1975, we have experimented with different types of themes but from 2016, the members are laying emphasis on use of eco-friendly stuffs in decorating pandals. All the artists are from Haldia, West Bengal. To give more indigenous look, artificial earthen lights design has been also added to the theme,” said, general secretary, RR Sporting Club, Rohit Yadav.
