On the occasion of Hul Diwas on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and Superintendent of Police Harvinder Singh paid floral tribute at the Shaheed Memorial located at Police Lines, Sector-12. They honoured the heroic legacy of Sidho-Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav, Phulo-Jhano and all martyrs of the Santhal rebellion, including fallen police personnel.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the Santhal Hul of 1855 remains a deeply inspiring chapter in India’s freedom struggle. It was not only a revolt against British rule but also a powerful expression of tribal resistance against social injustice and exploitation.

He highlighted the extraordinary courage, unity, and moral strength shown by Sidho-Kanhu and their comrades, stating their sacrifice continues to inspire future generations in the pursuit of truth, freedom, and justice.

The DC and SP also urged citizens to imbibe the values of the Hul movement and promote equality, harmony, and justice in society.
