On the occasion of Martyr's Day Martyrs' Day which is also known as Shaheed Diwas, is observed in India on January 30 to commemorate the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948. On this day, the entire nation pays tribute to all the heroes of the Indian freedom struggle, who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Notably In memory of Gandhi's sacrifice and to honour his legacy, the Indian government declared January 30 as Martyrs' Day. In the same episodes various units of BSL including Jharkhand Group of Mines, Administrative Building, Town Administrative Building, HRD center paid tribute in the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in India's freedom struggle by observing two minutes of silence. During this, Executive Director (Mines) J Das Gupta, Chief General Manager-in-Charge (Town Services) BS Popli, Chief General Manager-in-Charge (Personnel) Pawan Kumar, Chief General Manager (Personnel) Hari Mohan Jha, COC BSL MK Dhan and other senior officers and personnel were present.
