A tribal woman (38) was thrashed, looted and gangraped under Topchanchi police station area in Dhanbad district on Thursday.
According to the police, three unidentified goons first looted, thrashed and later gang raped the tribal woman near Kotaladda at Topchanchi. She is a resident of Harladih village, the incident occurred when the woman was returning to home after purchasing vegetables and food grains form the market.
The woman later lodged a complaint against the three unidentified goons who are absconding, police said. They also said “the woman was sent to hospital for medical examination”.
According to the complaint, the woman was returning to her home after shopping. She had crossed about 250 meters from the market, when suddenly three goons pulled her into bushes. They thrashed her and looted cash and vegetables from her. After making the loot, the goons overpowered the woman and closed her mouth from hands to stop from shouting. later they raped one-by-one, the victim told in her complaint.
Police are on ‘hunt' to arrest the goons; we are investigating and waiting for the medical report, said OC of the local police station.
