The thieves on Friday targeted a pole with energized primary wires and transformer at CCl Karo special project phase-II that also held up to 230 kg of cupper. However, the transformer was destroyed when the copper coils inside were removed and oil inside the canister spilled onto the ground, sources said
According to police, four or five criminals made their way to the CCl karo special phase –II around 1am on Friday and entered inside the project area and suddenly pounced on the guards and hit them on the head with traditional weapons and took them inside the room.
The duo later entered inside the transformer room .The other staffers were threatened with dire consequences and asked to remain quite during the next half-an-hour during which they held up 230 kg of cupper from transformer.
Bokaro thermal police ,rushed to the spot after getting word of the incident ,said that around 5 to 7 persons were involved in the loot .An alert has been sounded and the poloce team is going through local peoples .The robber will be identified and caught soon ,O/C Prameshwar leyangi said.
