Trade bodies laud Central Govt's financial package

Apex traders' body in the State, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) on Wednesday lauded the effort of the Central Government through which it has announced financial package to several sections of society. Office bearers of the traders’ body gave their opinion on several issues after announcement of Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitaraman.

FJCCI president Kunal Ajmani said that the relief package announced by the Finance Minister to deal with the transition period is a welcome step and it has tried to cover every category of MSME. The package announced by the Finance Minister has been given to us to move from local to global, which will surely benefit the industry, he added.

"Special provisions have been made in the package to keep sick industries, mobile industries and dead industries all alive in the economy. On the upside it is a good initiative. Things will be even clearer when detailed guidelines come," said Ajmani.

However, the traders’' body president also said that the reduction in interest rates is not mentioned, which is worrying. "An effort has been made to relieve all the people through relief package, be it industry sector, service sector or construction sector. No longer issuing a global tender for work up to 200 crores is a reasonable step in the current perspective. This will give domestic companies official work. The Central Government and all its PSUs have been directed to make pending payments within 45 days, which will bring liquidity in the market," he added.

FJCCI General Secretary Dhiraj Taneja said that there are about 45 thousand MSME units in Jharkhand. "Changing the criterion of MSME will also give a boost to local industries and the industries will try to push themselves further. We can expect that if the Central schemes are implemented in the State then the stakeholders will definitely get help in dealing with the transition period and the tax collection of the Government will also increase," he added.
