Town police have caught one of the two prime accused of the shoot out case which occurred on February 16 in broad daylight at Nawa Hata locality in Daltonganj wherein a 37 year old woman, mother of two children Meenakchi Goswami, was hurt.
The injured woman Meenakchi Goswami is undergoing treatment in a posh multi speciality hospital here at Nawa Toli in Daltonganj.
She is responding to treatment and is on the road to recovery, said sources in this multi speciality hospital.
Giving this information the inspector of police cum officer in charge of the town police station Deobrata Poddar said "We have caught Kishan Goswami alias Golu , 26. He is one of the two prime accused of this shoot out."
The other accused Santosh is at large but he can't afford to hide for long from police, said Poddar.
Police officer said the duo has a confectionery shop and hence Santosh can't wait for police to act more tough and he in his best of wisdom may like to surface or get himself presented before the police.
Poddar added "Curb the economy of the accused and the accused would sooner feel the heat of law."
Golu has been remanded in judicial custody today in Daltonganj.
Golu and Santosh are related to each other as Santosh is the brother in law of Golu.
Police officer Poddar said "Golu is a bad character. He had been to jail in Bihar."
Police are yet to recover the weapon used in crime.
Poddar said "We understand the weapon with which the shoot out was carried out could be with Santosh or it could have been abandoned just not to be found."
About the motive behind the shoot out police officer Poddar said "There are some juicy issues too. On the surface it is a tiff or rift over the landlady or the tenants as long back Golu and Santosh used to be her tenants who were later made to move out from the house."
Golu's marriage was in the offing where his familiarity or acquaintance with the woman was coming in his way.
Santosh, his brother in law, too prodded him instead of restraining him as Santosh too is a dubious fellow said the police officer.
About the weapon used in the shoot out there is a similar tangle to it like that of the motive behind the shoot out. Police are trying to find the weapon in all seriousness.
