The DC Palamau Pooja Singhal today launched a round-the-clock toll-free telephone service wherein the Palamau residents living in its 20 blocks and 283 panchayats can register their complaint regarding the public distribution shops and the deliveries made by the dealers of these shops.
Briefing mediapersons here she said the tollfree number is 1800-345- 2246. Callers on this number will get a code for the specific complaint with the help of which they will be able to know about the complaint
The complaints with regard to public distribution shop are stereotyped everywhere like ration cards in possession of the dealers, over charging of rates, less weighing, false entries in ration cards where even no food grains given, no proper timing of opening and closing of public distribution shop, bad behaviour of the dealers etc. All these will now be looked into she said.
Asked if there comes false complaint to which she said ‘It will be quite a disappointing thing then as the purpose and mission of this service is to provide maximum benefit and less of inconvenience to ration card-holders’.
