International working president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Praveen Togadia alleging rampant conversion of Hindus to Islam and Christianity in the last 2,000 years for the sorry state of the community across the world, stressed on bringing anti-conversion law to check any further such incidents in the future.
Togadia was addressing a gathering here during the golden jubilee celebration of the formation of VHP. “If conversion of Hindus had not taken place in this world, there would have not been any Salman, Shahrukh or Fernandes as originally there was only one religion across the world that was Hinduism,” said Togadia.
He also questioned Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav whether they were opposing the anti-conversion law or are against Hinduism. Counting on the exploitation of Hindus for the last 2,000 years, he said that there were 86 per cent Hindu population in India in the year 1947, which decreased to 82 per cent in 2001, 79 per cent to 2011.
“If the percentage of Hindus keeps on decreasing at a similar pace, it will go down to 40 per cent in the next 100 years, which is really alarming for the Hindu religion,” added the VHP leader. He further added that best education, best medical facilities, best infrastructure and best financial status for which America is presently known for, were the attributes of Hindus which finally shifted to India after being exploited across the world.
“It is time to pause and think as Hindu community is still insecure across the world otherwise Kashmir Valley would not have been vacated by them. If we do not take it seriously now, there will be a question mark on the identity of Hinduism in this world,” Togadia added. Togadia also suggested 6-point action plan to safeguard Hinduism in India.
“Firstly, we will not let the population of Hindus decrease, rather it will be increased. Secondly, we will make India constitutionally a Hindu nation. Thirdly, we are proud of being a Hindu and will become a Hindu by practice. Fourthly, we will become aware Hindu. Fifthly, we will become ‘Shakti’ (Strong) Hindu. lastly, we will be united as we are all had common ancestors several thousand years back,” said Togadia.
If this action plan was followed by each and every Hindu across the world, Hindu will definitely get back the dignity it has lost during the last 2,000 years, he added. RSS Sah-Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, on the other hand, said that VHP has done a remarkable job in the last 50 years taking different Hindu organisations on a single platform and making them aware that they are not inferior to any other community.
“Hindu as community has been facing attacks for the last several hundred years which still continues in a different way which must be checked to safeguard our identity in this world,” said Dattatreya. Several other leaders of different Hindu organisations were also present during the occasion. Tara Shahdeo, recent victim of domestic violence allegedly by her husband and mother-in-law, was also present on the stage who presented a sword as souvenir to Togadia.
