Eyeing the year-end Assembly election in Jharkhand, the Trinamool Congress on Sunday organised a day long workshop in State capital and gave tips for Assembly election to its workers.

The workshop was attended by TMC state president and former Palamu MP Kameshwar Baitha, youth wing president Sudhanshu Saha, Rajesh Kumar Pandey party spokesperson cum in-charge Ranchi Assembly segment.

Addressing the gathering, the TMC leader asked the party leaders to carry forward the party’s vision of Maa Maati and Manush. Ma Mati Manush is a political slogan of All India Trinamool Congress chief and current Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee.

The term is translated as "Mother, Motherland, and People". It became very popular in West Bengal during the 2009 General election and 2011 state Assembly election. Baitha asked the party leaders to strengthened party at booth level and in this connection he also gave tips to party cadres. He asked the party leaders to reach out to people highlighting the various schemes launched by Mamata Banerjee in the West Bengal. He said, “TMC vision is for betterment and development of people, serving motherland and mother.” The TMC leader on the occasion also gave tips on how to expand party in Jharkhand.

The TMC in past few years has been trying to make inroads in Jharkhand but has failed in its effort. The party in its expansion plan in August this year appointed former MP- Kameshwar Baitha as Jharkhand unit president of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC).  Baitha has several Naxal-related cases against him and was arrested by Sasaram police in connection with the killing of a divisional forest officer during united Bihar. Baitha, who is on bail now, had contested Palamu Lok Sabha bypoll on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket in 2007 and lost by over 20,000 votes.

He joined Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and won the seat in 2009 by over 20,000 votes.

In last Lok Sabha election too TMC fielded candidates from some Lok Sabha constituencies but party failed to even open its account in Jharkhand.
