Former minister, member of coordination committee of Jharkhand government and working president of Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, Bandhu Tirkey has said that, for regularization of more than 8000 contractual medical workers of Jharkhand, the government should soon constitute a high-level committee and its On the basis of the report, all these health workers should be made permanent without delay. Tirkey said that the contractual health workers are on fast unto death in front of the Raj Bhavan demanding that their service be made permanent and most of them are tribal-natives of Jharkhand for whom Jharkhand was formed.
In his letter to the Health Minister Banna Gupta, Tirkey has requested that the agitating health workers, who have been working for more than 10 years, should work in primary health centers established in urban and rural areas of different districts of Jharkhand as well as in hospitals. They are working as ANM, GNM, Lab Technician, X-ray Technician, Pharmacist and other posts and the number of those employees is more than 8000. He said that they have been demanding their stabilization for a long time. Tirkey clearly said that if the rules of reservation roster have been followed in his appointment and he has been appointed according to the rules to fill the declared vacant posts, then his regularization is the need of the hour.
The former minister said that due to the fast unto death, many contractual medical personnel had to be admitted to the hospital after their health deteriorated and this issue needs to be looked into with full sensitivity. Tirkey said that the entire health system of the state is on the strength of medical personnel and the important thing is that according to the information given to him, the contract workers appointed before these contract workers have already been regularized, hence from the logical point of view. These health workers should be regularised.
