Farmers of Haratu areconvinced that the three oxen so found killed arethe prey of the lone tiger there.
Sources said the three oxen were killed by the tiger at Achaar Pahar under Haratu.One injured ox managed to escape the wrath of the tiger. Sources said PTR officials are alert for the safety and security of the tiger as killing domesticated animals may invite some kind of wrath from the villagers.
Sources said PTR has a history of revenge inflicted on wild life by people like poisoning of a famous tigress named Begum to death and a couple of elephants killed by naked electricity wires in the past.
Sources said this revenge killing arose when there was the outbreak of conflict between man and wild life.
