Palamu Tiger Conservation Foundation has been registered under Society Registration Act but it has not yet been registered under Income Tax Rules under section 12 ( A) and 80 (G).

Sources said following this wanting of registration under Income Tax Rules the Palamu Tiger Conservation Foundation is unable to seek exemption from being taxed for its fund.

The Tiger Foundation is one where anyone can make donations which is exempted from tax under section 80 (G) but since it is not registered under relevant provisions the relaxation is not on offer.

Sources said this issue was raised in the Saturday meeting of Tiger Foundation in Betla and placed first in the 8 point agenda for the General Body meeting slated for October 18.

DFO Core Anil Kumar Mishra has confirmed this saying Tiger Foundation is yet to be registered under Income Tax Rules of section 12 (A) and 80 (G) whereby exemption from taxation is eluding Tiger Foundation and the donor too.

Field Director PTR M P Singh said, “We will be on the lookout of other sources for fund for the Tiger Foundation and this registration under Income Tax rules is mandatory. We need conservation biologist, community mobilization expert and livelihood expert for the Tiger Foundation and even inquired if there is any taxonomist here in this Nilamber Pitamber university.”

Retired foresters and forest guards if fit and healthy and have an inclination to work as contractual work force may first apply for  re employment in the PTR on a fixed emolument and the emolument is to be decided on the basis of his last pay that he drew before his superannuation and the pension fixed.

The Field Director said this issue will be discussed threadbare after due consultations  with the rangers whom he asked to specify the works that these contractual work force would be performing.
