The visiting team of architects from Gujarat has give a thumbs down to the expansion plan of Pahari Mandir design by young architect of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra. The architects who were on two-day visit to the State capital to explore the expansion of Pahari Mandir have exposed several loopholes in the plan.

Throwing light on matter Pahari Mandir Vikas Samiti member Prem Shankar Choudhary said, “After minutely undergoing through the technical aspect it was decided that the blue print prepared by the students of BIT Mesra is not fit for the rocks of Pahari Mandir, so a new model will be prepared.”

Architect from Ahmadabad Manoj Trivedi sharing the information at a press conference said that according to BIT Mesra plan the material required use of steel in the construction of temple which does not have a long lasting life. After 100 years the temple may collapse. It has been decided to erect the temple with red stones and marbles.

“It will take a month to present a new blue print but we have decided to use red stone outside the temple and marbles inside it. The cost is likely to go up by three times,” said Trivedi.

However the team denied sharing any information regarding the changes going to take place apart from use of material in the temple. “We are not in the position to make any concrete comment on the project. Once we prepare the blue print will share the information with all,” added Indra Achariya an architect from Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, the members of Pahari Mandir Vikas samiti has welcomed the suggestions of Gujarat team and has promised to provide their round the clock help in expansion plan of Pahari Mandir.
