Vying for the Mayor post three women candidates filed their nomination in Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC). All total 53 candidates including three women are in poll fray for the post. Parinda Singh the daughter-in-law of ex MlA Samresh Singh, Reshma Khatoon wife of the Vice-chairman Wahid Khan and Ritu Rani Singh are ready to give a tough contest to the male contenders in CMC area.
Six of them— Santosh Barnwal, R N Ojha, Uday Chandra Prasad, Ajay Rai, Dr Ratan Kejriwal and Dr Anil Kumar Singh are Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders and backed by party for victory while other contenders are with non political links. Chas civic body, which got the ‘corporation’ tag in February this year, now eyeing over its first Mayor; the poll is scheduled to be held on 26 May. The district administration is all set to go for peaceful and fearless Municipal Corporation poll. There are 1,24,350 voters including 67959 male and 56391 female of all 35 wards of Chas Municipal Corporation will cast their rights on EVM machine at 112 polling booths in Chas.
