Free movement and safe passage through the lanes of the town was never so scary as a gang of three criminals have created havoc in the town. The fatal modus operandi of the trio is to immobilise its prey by giving deadly blows of iron rod on head, chest and any other part with least regard to severity of the possible injury. After grievious hurt the snatching follows.
Between 1 AM to 4 AM at night the attackers were at three different places for snatching after inflicting serious injuries on four persons. While Pawan Pandey a photo studio owner was attacked near Shani Temple near Rajgarhia Road when he was on bike returning from Moriyawan, Govind and Raju Das accosted the deadly predators near Sai Iron Factory when they were heading for railway station to board train and Telaiya Basti resident Kartik Sao met the same fate near Bazar Samiti Old Police line.
Physical assault on two of the victims was so fatal that they could not be treated locally and they were referred to Ranchi for better treatment. Though snatching by itself is no less intimidating in the town for itself being almost crime free. However, alarmingly a disturbing trend of the crimes is a precursor to snatching. Subject matter of snatching is Purse, Mobile, Wrist Watch and petty cash but the way of injury inflicting can endanger the life itself.
