Town police station Daltonganj is bamboo barricaded following detection of three of its police officials testing positive for Covid 19. It is the second day of its barricading today.
SP Palamu Ajay Linda said, “As a precautionary measure there is barricading at the main gate of this police station following discovery of three police officials testing positive for Covid 19 nevertheless the functioning of this police station is 24x7 going on.”
Linda said, “A box has been set up at the gate. Here a complainant or a visitor drops his written complaint/ statement. A police official there collects it and puts up the stuff before the officer in charge for the needful.”
Linda said we have made it compulsory for the petitioners/ applicants to write down the cell phone number on the petitions/ applications and also the petitioners/ applicants are encouraged to have our numbers too with them including his ( read SP) too for exchange of information.
On an average 6 to 10 cases come a day in this police station and despite this extraordinary measure which is a health safeguard there has come no dislocation of work on complaints so received in the drop box set up at the gate.
Linda said, “I am getting too many calls which I respond to after taking a follow up note from SDPO Sadar Sandip Kumar Gupta.”
Asked when this bamboo barricading will be withdrawn to which SP said “We are waiting for the follow up test reports and once it comes negative it will be lifted.”
Town police station has been sanitized and all its work force nearly 50 including drivers and others have been tested and their test reports are awaited added Linda.
Police offices and quarters lined up in police lines too have been sanitized, he said.
The three who have tested positive are in isolation at Chiyanki and all those coming from leave here are mandated to undergo a 14 day quarantine breach of it will mean severe action, reminded the SP.
250 police officials have so far been tested for Covid 19 and all are found fit & negative he added.
