Three people died in a road accident that took place on Monday night under Saria police station. A 10-year-old child seriously injured in the incident also died. He was being taken to Dhanbad for better treatment, but he died on the way.
The deceased have been identified as Gokul Mandal and Sumitra Devi and son of Gokul, residents of Baso kando in Dumri police station area.
Mandal was returning in auto with his family members after attending a housewarming programme at the house of relatives of Balia in Sariya, in the meantime the incident occurred. The injured were admitted to the hospital
A crowd gathered after the road accident. There was a demand for compensation to the dependents of the deceased. People also protested against the incident. Apart from police, Saria BDO Pushkar Singh Munda was also on the spot. He tried to convince the people. But the angry people did not listen to him and started beating him up. Later, some local people pulled out the BDO from the crowd and saved them.
Five people were arrested by the police in the case of outrage against Sariya BDO Pushkar Singh Munda and AJSU leader Anup Pandey. Police are working to arrest the other people involved in this. A team was formed by the police to identify and arrest those who beat up the BDO.
The police personnel involved in the team are currently arresting five people and questioning them.
On Tuesday, Bagodar MLA Vinod Kumar Singh reached Saria and met the BDO and AJSU leader Anup Kumar and took information about the incident. He described the incident as tragic.
