The last Monday of April 2015 will be remembered as the day of strength show by the guardians of students of private schools of Hazaribagh. Since morning, schedule was on in almost all schools, so guardians came out on the streets on Monday around 5:30 am, to make the bandh successful held by their State-level forum.
As per their pre-planned strategy, the guardians of different areas blocked the roads used by the school buses and other private vehicles carrying students. On the appeal of forum, most of the private vehicle owners kept their vehicles parked while some who came out to carry the students soon returned back because the roads were blocked.
Keeping in view the anger of guardians, the private schools also decided to keep their buses inside their premises. After this initial success, the male guardians moved towards the busiest district board more, St. Columba More, Hurhuru More and PTC Chowk and blocked the main paths which lead to most of the important schools of the town.
They stopped the guardians carrying their wards to their schools and requested them to go back. Most of the guardians kept their appeal which ultimately resulted in thin attendance in almost all the private schools of Hazaribagh town. Reports from adjoining areas, sub-divisions and blocks are telling the same story.
At about 8:30, DC Mukesh Kumar met with the representatives of local forum which gave him a six point charter of demands. Talking with the guardians, DC Kumar said that till date no instruction letter has come from the State Government and as the letter will come he will act accordingly. On other demands like probe of following the norms of CBSE, interview of guardians, mental torture of students due to delayed fee and other payments etc. DC Kumar assured everyone that he had already constituted a committee which will look into all these matters.
later in noon guardians met Education Minister Neera Yadav at Circuit House. Minister Yadav assured them that soon the government is going to bring a bill to check the irregular practices of private schools. She repeated the vow of CM Raghuvar Das that this government will not allow any school to take capitation and readmission fee.
