Communal tension erupted on the eve of Ramnavmi in Pandu village of Keradari block in which 25 people got injured and 10 homes were burnt. Police forces rushed to the spot as soon as the news spread but at the time of filing of this report the situation was tense there.
The Deputy Pramukh of Keradari block Ram Swaroop Ojha said that the Ramnavmi procession was passing peacefully in the village when suddenly a group of people started throwing stones at the procession and the forces along with the procession. This led to throwing of stones from both the sides which caused injury of 25 persons and then the mob burnt 10 houses in the situation of chaos.
As the news reached the police headquarter, Hazaribagh SP Akhilesh Jha, ASP Hari lal, DSP Dinesh Gupta, BDO Keradari Rajesh Kumar and Deputy Pramukh Ram Swaroop Ojha rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.
Notably on Thursday evening police and local people clashed over the volume of the DJ playing in the area. localspelted stones on police after which police opened lathi charge on the mob.
