Members of two communities came face to face near Narsingh Bhagwan temple in Banha village of Katkamdag block of the district on the issue of cow killing. On the reports of stone pelting on the temple, district police along with DySP and Sadar SDO reached there and tried to control the situation. Police also had to fire two rounds in the air to control the mob.
The villagers of Khapariyava said to the police that they saw blood in the drain and tried to know the reason. Meanwhile, other community members came there and started to beat them. “We rushed near the temple. They started pelting stones on the temple and burnt a motorcycle there,” said a villager.
Police forces reached there along with DySP Kamal Kishore and Sadar SDO Megha Bhardwaj and appealed to them to maintain peace. When they did not stop their activities the police used two rounds of fire in the air. Some villagers were injured due to pelting the stones.
The police force is continuously watching the situation. Now the situation is under control. MLA Manish Jaiswal appealed to the villagers to maintain the peace in the areas.
