At least ten people were injured in a clash between landlords and Electrosteel Steels ltd’s (ESl) security cops at Siyaljori about 35 kms from the district headquarter of Bokaro on Saturday afternoon.
The injured were rushed to Bokaro General Hospital and Government hospital Chas. “People who got minor injuries were released after providing first aid while four are still under treatment at the hospital”, sources said.
Clash erupted over a dispute over construction of road at Chamuraidih. In support of their demands locals forcibly stopped the road construction work. later, the villagers started pelting stones on the ESl officials when they rushed to the spot for ‘talk’.
The villagers hurled stones later ransacked vehicles and broken their glass. Clash resulted into injuries. The injured were identified as Mahabir Mahato, Ram Mahato, Buniyadi Mahato, Suresh, Devilal, Shyamlal, Kesto, Jhuri Mahato including others.
An FIR has been lodged. “We are investigation into the matter”, said OC of the police station.
