Team RD Singh questions credibility of election panel

Making serious allegations on the Election Committee of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) of creating confusion among the voters, team RD Singh on Friday expressed concern over its intentions and raised questions whether the elections in these circumstances, will be free and fairIJ Following ruckus created before the election committee presidential candidate RD Singh called a Press conference on Friday and explained how the nomination paper of one of the candidate of his team was misplaced but was later found out.

“The manner in which the nomination paper of Amarjeet Giridhar was misplaced and a list of 63 candidates were released by FJCCI in haste; it poses serious doubts over the intentions of the election committee. It indicates that the elections might not be conducted in a free and fair manner as the election committee has openly been siding with the other team,” said Singh.

This is the reason why only one group is dominant in the Chamber Elections for the last 4-5 years, he added.

Singh also alleged that they have not yet been provided the authentic voters list and the list which they have been given lacks the name and address of the voters. “It has the name of the firm but it does not have the name and address of voters…in such cases, how we will contact the voters,” questioned Singh.

Singh demanded that such discrepancies must be removed immediately so that free and fair elections could be conducted.

Vinay Agrawal, who has been heading the other team, however termed it a human error which was also admitted by the elections committee. “It was nothing but human error which was corrected as soon as it came into their notice,” said Agrawal. It should not be made an issue in the elections.

A total of 64 nominations have been filed for Chamber elections 2016 out of which 56 nominations has been filed for the post of Executive Committee and 8 nominations have been filed for regional Vice Presidents. All these nominations have been found to be valid. Chamber elections are to be held on September 25.
