Teachers pledge to conduct exams smoothly

More than 500 teachers of State-run intermediate school and colleges have pledged to conduct examinations smoothly. Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) Chairman Dr Anand Bhushan administered the pledge to the teachers for the cause on Tuesday. The secondary and intermediate examination is scheduled from February 16.

The Principals have been directed to host a five-day counselling session at their schools and colleges for teachers who would be the examiners. “We want the teachers to avoid silly mistakes in the exam process as well in the evaluation of the answer sheets,” said Bhushan. The participants were told to go through the ‘Evaluation Handbook’, which includes Standard Marking System. “In case, teachers want to go on strike for their pending demands or any other agitation, we have instructed them to work overtime instead of stopping their work,” the JAC Chairman added.

The instructions for evaluation will probably help in correct marking of the answersheets. “In case a student finds faults in the copy correction, we have asked the teachers to refer them directly to my office,” he said. Also, the participants have been told to go through the sample papers of the inter exam uploaded on JAC website. “We do not want any student to suffer due to the fault of examiners,” said Bhushan.
