Jharkhand Teachers’ Association on Friday submitted a letter to the district administration demanding to probe into the promotions activities. They alleged that over the last few decades, the act of ‘illegal promotions’ was going on and culprits were withdrawing crores of rupees illegally in the name of promotion.
The secretary of the union Kishor Kumar Verma said, “Many times it was revealed in the audit of AG and Economical department. Senior officials issued letters against them to take back the money several times. The department had cancelled their promotions. But the act of illegal promotion was still continued. Verma said that no officer wanted to probe the matter. As a result there is an economical imbalance. Many teachers thought that their promotions are valid by staying the orders in High Court.
Jharkhand Teachers’ Association demanded that the matter of teachers’ recruitment since 1987-88 should be probed by a special audit of Audit and AG department so that the reality would come forth and the loot of the government fund can be checked. After that the promotion should be started. If their demands were not met all the senior teachers will be forced to sit on dharna unto death. DC SB Barwar said that the matters would be looked into after taking charge of DSC permanently. The DEO is also set to be retired.
