Police are yet to nab the minor accused involved in a road accident that caused the death of school teacher Kalpana Das under Doranda police station area on September 1.
Das who taught in Bridgeford school was hit by a speeding bike driven by the minor boy in Alkapuri area of the city. She was going towards a shop to make purchases when the accident took place. Das received serious head injuries in the accident.
Her husband Raman Kumar Das, who was accompanying her, rushed Das to various hospitals of the city before admitting her in MEDICA. The doctors however declared her dead.
The police said the FIR was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of statement made by the husband on September 2. Doranda officer-in-charge informed that the boy is yet to be arrested in the case.
He however added that the police have seized his bike.
“Police would have to move the court for taking appropriate action against the minor. I have directed the investigation officer in this regard,” the OC said.
