Tata Steel's residential matric coaching programme proves useful

Out of 44 students who had appeared for Class-10th final examination of Jharkhand Academic Council, 34 have successfully passed the examination, as per results declared.

These students had been selected and supported by the Tata Steel Tribal Cultural Society for a residential coaching programme in collaboration with the Tribal Research and Training Centre, Chaibasa. Before joining the coaching programme, in their previous attempt these students were unable to clear the Class-10th examination.

Tata Steel Tribal Cultural Society took care of all the expenses towards boarding and lodging of the students as well as administrative cost and salaries to teachers.

During the 8-month residential coaching programme, these 44 students hailing from East Singhbhum, West Singbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts underwent a specially tailored coaching program to prepare them for the 2013-14 matriculation examination. Five teachers provided intensive training to the students. For overall development, the residential programme also included sessions on personality development as well sports.
