Tata Steel as part of its commitment towards the indigenous society, is organising ‘Samvaad’, a four-day conclave for tribal population in the steel city. Marking the birth anniversary of Shri Birsa Munda, the iconic tribal freedom fighter, Tata Steel’s Tribal Cultural Society will organise the pan-India tribal meet from November 15-18.

The one of its kind tribal conclave aims to bring together tribes from all across the country on a common platform, bring collective wisdom under one roof to stimulate a valuable exchange and cross-pollination of ideas; to document and hence, preserve a body of knowledge and a world view that runs the risk of being obliterated.

Speaking on the occasion, Biren Ramesh Bhuta, CSR, Tata Steel said “It’s a moment of great pride for us at Tata Steel to organise Samvaad, the four-day conclave which aims at providing a platform to exchange thoughts, ideas and knowledge for our friends from different tribes in India. The 4-day festival will bring various indigenous cultures under one umbrella and will help in creating one large community among them”. He further added, “The four day conclave will showcase various eminent tribal leaders engaging in panel discussions, screening of documentary films, cultural programs and exhibitions of handicrafts displaying the rich heritage of Indian tribes”.

T V Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel, India and SEA will inaugurate the conclave at 5 pm on November 15. Cultural performances by groups from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, ladakh, Kerala, and Assam, to welcome the participants, will follow the inaugural ceremony.
