Tata Power’s Jojobera plant employees enthusiastically volunteered to extend support to the ‘Cheshire Home’ residents in Jamshedpur by providing them with financial aid. Cheshire Home provides care and shelter to orphans with multiple disabilities, and is the Company’s mission in dedication to make a difference in the lives of the residents.
Volunteers from Tata Power’s Jojobera plant visited the Cheshire Home as part of the Tata Volunteer Week II, and spent time with the residents, cheering them with dance, songs, and various other fun activities. The employees also made a laudable effort to support them by voluntarily contributing funds and donating old washed clothes. A total of Rs. 30,875 was donated by the employees, which was used to purchase groceries and other important necessities.
Speaking on the initiative, V. V. Namjoshi, chief- Jojobera Station, said, “It is an overwhelming experience to see that despite physical challenges, the residents of Cheshire Home are leading a happy life with people caring for them. Our Jojobera employees have been engaging with them for the past few years, and it is inspiring to see their enthusiastic response to volunteer and donate for a good cause. We are happy that we could contribute and bring smiles and joyous moments to the residents of the Home.”
