Tata Power has successfully touched over half a million lives through the CSR initiatives designed to promote education, health, livelihood, social capital and nurturing sustainability.
The Tata Power Community Development Trust acts as development vehicle for driving these initiatives. Tata Power has undertaken activities in the five major thrust areas, which includes:-
Through VIDYA, Tata Power enhanced the access to education for community children and increased their attendance rate, thus eliminating school dropouts through various interventions. The Education Excellence program awarded scholarships for students.The educational initiatives have impacted over 210000 students across various regions.
In the healthcare area, the company started curative healthcare services which treated more than 80,000 patients at mobile health vans. Through awareness sessions, it reached out to more than 60,000 people. More than 50,000 patients were treated through the lifeline express facility.
