Tata Power has incessantly undertaken several initiatives for the holistic development of the communities living in and around its areas of operation. On the occasion of 175th birth anniversary year of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, Tiruldih team organised a special visit to an orphanage home in Harmu.

The objective of this initiative is to ensure welfare of the children and differently abled adults by supporting them with basic amenities. The enthusiastic volunteers of Tata Power were successful in establishing a rapport with the children and differently abled adults, and brought a smile to their faces by distributing clothes and eatables. This initiative was undertaken as an extension of Tata Power’s Volunteering Week.

Speaking about initiative, D. Santra, head - Tiruldih Project said, “Tata Power is committed to giving back to the society, spreading positivity and happiness among under-privileged communities. We are extremely proud of the Tiruldih division as the team participated enthusiastically and contributed in brightening their lives. We appreciate the efforts of all who contributed for the noble cause. We are also thankful to the orphanage management for cooperating and supporting our initiative and will continue to do so in the future as well.”

The orphanage has been established with the purpose of supporting abandoned children and people and provides them with basic necessities. The orphanage also runs a school within its premises in order to educate the children and provide them with a solid foundation. These efforts go a long way in rehabilitating them, thus ensuring a better future.
