Tata Power organises blood donation camp at Jojobera plant

Insufficient volume of transfusable blood is one of the biggest medical concerns in the country today. Understanding this imbalance, and aiming to contribute towards the health and wellness of the community at large, Tata Power organised a blood donation camp at its Jojobera Plant in Jamshedpur, with the support of Jamshedpur Blood Bank and Voluntary Blood Donation Agency.

The initiative received an overwhelming response and more than 90 units of blood was collected. The employees and contract workers of the company volunteered enthusiastically and worked in conjunction with the medical teams to make the blood donation camp a major success.

Speaking about the initiative, DS Kudalkar, head of Jojobera Station said, “Voluntary blood donation is a valuable service to people in severe medical emergencies. Tata Power has always been a front-runner in setting-up such health camps for the benefit of the communities.

It gives me great pleasure to see our employees enthusiastically supporting such causes, and demonstrating their strong sense of social responsibility.”

Tata Power organises such blood donation camps twice every year. Such camps give the employees an opportunity to engage in community service, thus contributing substantially towards the well-being of the community.
